Hornell Community Meals   One of the Hornell participating churches. Join us every Sunday for socializing and games starting at 2:30 pm and dinner served at 3:30 pm.  See our What's Happening page for details.

Food Bank of the Southern Tier - Our participation in this program is with the Backpack Program where nutritious meals are provided to at-risk children who are in the lunch program with the local school district.  Also Stop & Shop program, allowing congregational members to contribute items such as canned goods, diapers and 
other paper goods, personal hygiene items and even the makings for a child’s birthday 
party distributed by Turning Point (Catholic Charities) and the local Salvation Army.

Dime A Day – A monthly congregational collection, usually by children at church, for the purpose of addressing local hunger issues.

The Agape Fund - Semi-annual fundraisers that provide monies divided between meeting 
needs for emergency housing request; administer by Turning Point (Catholic Charities) and for
urgent, short term financial needs distributed at the discretion of the Hornell Salvation Army 
Food Pantry. 

Club Can Do – An Ecumenical after school program for elementary aged children in coordination 
with the public schools.

United Presbyterian Women (UPW) – The Hornell Chapter - help raise funds with their bi-annual Rummage sale event. They have made donations to our church projects and a multitude of missions including Faith in Action, Sister Susan Rural Ministry, and local food pantries.
Operation Christmas Child - This is a global charity that we participate in each Christmas; usually children of congregational member provide a shoe box filled with hygiene items and a toy to be provided to a child in need. 

Heifer Project International 
- Usually as part of Sunday School, students raise money to purchase a livestock animal in a underdeveloped country that is provided to a family or families in need. 

One Great Hour of Sharing - This is a mission carried out each year during lent or around Easter. Our church has special envelopes for this charity collected during lent. 

Presbyterian Disaster Relief - Congregational members have volunteered time and often their own travel expenses to help with disaster relief. West Virginia Flood rehab (2002-2005) and Hurricane Katrina Assistance (2005).

Church World Service - Each year members of the congregation purchase blankets to be provided to families in need in under developed countries. 

Alternative Holiday Market – Conceived by the Mission Committee as an antidote to “Black 
Friday” consumerism, provides members with opportunities to give more meaning instead of 
more stuff by making contributions to local and global charities.

Angel Tree – Each Christmas the Deacons put up a tree usually in the dining hall where we have our fellowship on Sundays.  Members of the congregation are invited to adapt an angel and give a donation to a local family in need
